Laptop screen went black - can't find the cause/ solution! Hardware. And what a time for it to fail on us because there was a fatal accident on our work property that we need video from. So it may be safe to say it is something wrong with this one DVR. I did look to see if I can save DAV files as The one in question did before but no longer does. I just tested all of our Amcrest DVR's and 4 of them easily saved as MP4 or AVI and played back perfectly. This one DVR used to easily export/convert to MP4 or AVI but all video is corrupted coming from this DVR. Even the DAV files will not play in the DAV players or codecs. It is just this single DVR that is corrupting the video conversions. ![]() Thank you again for the info but what is frustrating is that we have 5 Amcrest DVR's and all but this one can export to MP4 and playback perfectly and it did just months ago. This requires a DAV codec to be installed. You have to save the files out DECRYPTED. ![]() You -must- install a 3rd party codec for support of those codecsĮDIT: DAV files are also encrypted by default specification of the codec. H.265 HEVC format is not supported by Windows Media Player by default - Microsoft REMOVED their codec for it back in 2016 neither is 10-bit h.264 MP4. Try downloading the K-Lite Codec Standard pack, and then play back using VLC or Media Player Classic. Their software has the codec built in, but it does not make it available to Windows or other software in general. you need the right codecs on your computer or it will not work outside the Amcrest software.
